Raptizm
Chapter 2
Some words need explanation
when they are transformed into "Raptizm." In Chapter 2, we come across
the word "cracka" or "cracker." This word was used to describe white
settlers and, more partic- ularly, the slavemasters and plantation
owners in the South. As a reflection of the manner in which the masters
cracked their whips to exert power over their slaves, the name
"cracker" became the label applied to the misuse of one man's power
over another.
In the past, it was the
masters over the slaves; today, it's the police over the civilians.
It has the same meaning in the sense that many police officers
misuse their power over every- day citizens. So, due to this current
circumstance, the name "cracker" or "cracka" has come to signify
"police."
If you have heard these
expressions used in this regard, you have already in effect heard one
element of Raptizm.
